Daniel Shiffman

Daniel Shiffman works as an Assistant Arts Professor at the [Interactive Telecommunications Program](http://itp.nyu.edu) at NYU's [Tisch School of the Arts](http://www.tisch.nyu.edu/page/home). Originally from Baltimore, Daniel received a BA in Mathematics and Philosophy from [Yale University](http://www.yale.edu) and a Master's Degree from the [Interactive Telecommunications Program](http://itp.nyu.edu). He works on developing tutorials, examples, and libraries for [Processing](http://www.processing.org), the open source programming language and environment created by Casey Reas and Ben Fry. He is the author of [Learning Processing: A Beginner's Guide to Programming Images, Animation, and Interaction](http://www.learningprocessing.com) and [The Nature of Code](http://natureofcode.com) (self-published via [Kickstarter](http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/shiffman/the-nature-of-code-book-project)), an open source book about simulating natural phenomenon in Processing.
